Science Camp 2006, organized by BSS, Kerala Chapter, in association with the Dept. of Physics, University of Kerala and Kerala State Science and Technology Museum, Trivandrum, on 10,11 and 12 November 2006 at S&T Museum, Trivandrum.
This three day state level residential camp was organized to mark the formal culmination of Einstein Year observance in the state under the auspices of BSS. A reception committee with eminent persons was formed for the successful conduction of the camp. Dr.N.A.Kareem(Former Pro-VC of Kerala University) was the chairman of the committee. Sri.S.L.P.Mahamood (Director, State Science and Technology Museum), Sri.P.Radhakrishnan (Rtd. Dy. Director, LPSC, ISRO), Dr.V.Sasikumar (Scientist, CES), Sri.Krishna Warrier (Dy.Director, C-DAC), Dr.K.G.Thara (HOD, Institute of Land Management), Dr.Achuthsankar.S.Nair (Director,Bioinformatics) and Dr.Manoj Komath (Scientist, Sree Chitra Thirunal Institute of Medical Science and Technology) were among the members of the committee.
The camp was inaugurated by Dr.B.N.Suresh (Director, VSSC, ISRO). Sri.P.Radhakrishnan presided over the inaugural session. Prof.G.Sreenivasan (Raman Research Institute, Bangalore) was the guest in chief. Prof.V.K.Vaidyan (HOD, Physics, University of Kerala and Chairman of the camp organizing committee) delivered the welcome speech. Sri.Prakash (Dy.Director, S&T Museum) and Dr.V.Sasikumar felicitated. G.S.Padmakumar (Co-ordinator, BSS, Kerala) proposed the vote of thanks.
150 delegates from different districts of the state participated in the camp. The delegates were divided into 2 groups: Juniors (High School level) and Seniors (Higher Secondary and above). Classes and workshops were held separately for each group.

Concluding Ceremony
In the concluding session Prof.P.N.Thankachan presided over. Prof.Gouri sankar Ghatak was the guest in chief.Prof.V.K.Vaidyan issued the certificates to the participants. Sri.P.S.Gopakumar (secretary, organizing committee) delivered the welcome speech. Kumari. Anju and Kumari.Chippy, representing the senior and junior groups respectively, presented report of the camp from the participants side. Sri.C.Ramachandran felicited. Sri.K.Thankappan presented a telescope he made to BSS. Sri.G.S.Padmakumar proposed the vote of thanks.
